Handmade perfumery
Creating a perfume is above all a story. I told this story to Jean-Claude Gigodot, a professional Nose, but above all an olfactory artist. We had already worked together to give birth to our first Eau de parfum a few years ago. Then, over time, as our range evolved, I was ready to embark on a new fragrance project, naturally linked to the organic lavender essential oil from my crops.
I wanted a natural, sparkling, fresh fragrance inspired by the morning dew that diffuses its delicate scents after the softness of the night. A fragrance that brings me back to the first breaths of the day, to the first melodies of the morning, whose score only nature knows. Odile Guerpillon Tassi
The creation of this perfume was based on these few words, sometimes supported by childhood memories. And it was quite naturally that Jean-Claude started with notes of citrus, verbena, and bergamot to enhance lavender and lavandin, to which I am so attached.
The creation of a perfume takes place in four stages:
1. The reference sample
Once the fragrance is chosen, it goes to the laboratory for various technical trials. A reference sample is then carefully preserved. It will serve as a guide for the final production.
2. Maturation
The perfume concentrate is then made according to a recipe known only to the Nose. It is stored in a cask for a few weeks so that the components can blend olfactively.
3. Dilution & maceration
Then comes the production! This concentrate is diluted in a defined percentage of alcohol and left to macerate for about three weeks.
4. Filtration
The Eau de parfum is almost ready. It is now chilled (lowered to a temperature between 3°C and 5°C for a few minutes), then filtered to remove the floating fats and obtain a completely clear liquid. The Eau de parfum is ready to be bottled!
